Mario Elia, MD
Dr. Elia is a family physician from London, Ontario, and is an adjunct professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Western University. He attended Western University for both medical school and residency. His undergraduate degree was in Life Sciences at Queen’s University in Kingston. He is a tortured fan of the Cleveland Indians, Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors and New York Jets.
When coming to an appointment...

Please bring ALL medications to ALL appointments

If you have an appointment for a medication renewal, we should renew all medications that you will run out of within the next three (3) months

Same-day or appropriate appointments will always be offered, depending on the nature or urgency of the problem

We reserve the right to fit in or rebook patients who are late for appointments

Please call the office to make appointments rather than walk-in

Telephone reminders for appointments will only be given for Periodic Health Exams (physicals)

Patients without a health card will be required to pay for services at the time of service

Medication issues...

Medication refills will NOT be done over the phone on a regular basis. Make your appointment early to avoid running out of medications

If any medication changes are made by another physician, please notify us at your next appointment

All patients on narcotics will be required to sign a contract outlining their use

Following up on tests...

If you do not hear about a referral or about an appointment for CT/MRI (or another imaging test) within 2-3 weeks, please call our office to double-check its status

Please book appointments to follow-up any lab or imaging test

Dealing with other doctors...

Please be aware that we do not receive reports from walk-in clinics

At your next hospital visit, please let them know that Dr. Elia is now your family doctor

Cancellation Policy

Our office policy is to require at least 24 hours notice of cancellation of a booked appointment. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a missed appointment fee from your physician

Regular appointment $30.00 - Missed Physical Appointment $60.00

Uninsured Services

Fees for medical services that are not covered by the provincial insurance plan are the responsibility of you, the patient
-
The fees assigned are as per the recommendations of the provincial medical association

We will always take into consideration that some patients may not be able to pay for these services. Please don't hesitate to inform us if these charges pose a financial hardship to you

The waiting room will have a posted list of services that may require payment
-
Any advice or vaccinations related to travel are NOT covered by OHIP
